Today is Canada’s 145th birthday!
We are very fortunate to live in such a great and privileged country! I hope everyone has a great day celebrating!
The Canada Day celebrations kick off with the parade starting at 11:30 am which begins at the corner of Lakeshore and Colborne Road and ends in Canatara Park. There are 43 entries this year! After the parade there will be lots of international food booths, vendors, and entertainment in the park. Entertainment this year will include a reptile show, a martial arts demonstration and a family circus.
Later in the afternoon, the festivities move over to Centennial Park. Entertainment scheduled includes: Wild West Show at 4:30 p.m, Shelly Rustin Band at 5:30 p.m., Chemical Valley at 6:45 p.m., and Lighthouse at 8 p.m.
As usual, the ‘musical fireworks’ begin at 10 p.m., with local radio stations broadcasting music synchronized with the fireworks display. The music will also be broadcast on speakers with stereo amp throughout the park.
Lots of fun!
