Walk So Kids Can Talk 2015

Hey everyone!

This year’s Walk So Kids Can Talk supporting Kids Help Phone is coming up on May 3rd! The Walk is Canada’s largest for child and youth emotional health and well-being and kicks off Mental Health Week in Canada each year. Having struggled with depression for many of my teenage years (back before social media made life even harder for kids!), this is a cause that touches very close to home and is very important to me.  This year, my close group of “mommy friends” are walking together for the second time and have formed a team called “Sarnia Moms”. If any of you are interested in joining us and walking, please click here to join and leave a comment below so I know who you are and can welcome you 🙂 If you are not interested in walking but would like to sponsor our team by donating to this important cause, your support would be greatly appreciated!

Maple Syrup Festivals This Weekend!

I am super excited to take my little ones to one of this year’s maple syrup festivals! We did go to the Ipperwash festival last year but they were too young to really understand what it was all about so this year will be one of new discoveries. It will be especially fun for my 3 year old especially who, thanks to a certain episode of Curious George, thinks he knows all the what’s what of tree tapping and syrup boiling.

There are 2 festivals happening in the area surrounding Sarnia this weekend:

1) 20th Annual Ipperwash Maple Syrup Festival: Saturday and Sunday Mar. 21/22  & Mar. 27/28,  2015

At Williamson Farms: 7739 Lakeshore Rd., Hwy 21, north of Forest: Hayrides, Maple Syrup Bush Tours, Sugar Shanty Tours, Maple Syrup, Maple Candy Floss and more in the Farm Store and Sugar Shanty.

  • Sugar Shanty Tours at Williamson Farms 9am -5pm
Hayrides at Silver Birches Campground  9am -3pm  (9537 Army Camp Road) by Williamson Farms

All you can eat pancake breakfast by Forest Kiwanis served March 21 from 9:00am – 2:00pm at the Legacy Centre Thedford, ON. Cost is $8.00 for Adults & $5 for kids.
