A couple times a month, the Lambton Central Petrolia Optimist Club presents matinee movie showings at Victoria Hall in Petrolia! What a great way to spend an afternoon and know your money is supporting local projects!

“We are proud to present a variety of family movies for younger audiences or for the young at heart! These matinee movies are only $3 per person. Doors open at 1pm and the movie starts at 2pm. Popcorn and water are available for purchase. Water $1, Small Popcorn $1, and a Large Tub of Popcorn $3. You will find our Featured Event Poster on our Home Page. Doors open at 1pm and the movie starts at 2pm. Pick up a brochure for ALL movie listings at Victoria Hall and The Community Centre. All proceeds will go toward community projects.”

Coming to Sarnia in February: Disney’s Imagination Movers!

It’s not too late to get your tickets to see the Disney  Imagination Movers: Live in Concert at the Imperial Theatre next month! The show is February 24th at 6pm.  Regular tickets are $42 (wowza!). There are also special Meet and Greet tickets available exclusively through the box office for $46. I recommend ordering from the box office anyways to avoid the $2/ticket online ordering fee.

SUPER Cute Valentine Idea!

Valentine’s Day is still a few weeks away so it’s perfect time to get a jump on making cool valentines for your kiddos to hand out! Forget those lame-o, overpriced boxed sets from Walmart! Get creative this year.

I found this adorable (plus boy friendly and NOT candy!) printable DIY valentine on www.hellodesignmeetlife.com.

All you need is a printer, some paper and cardstock, a glue stick, a hole punch, string and some little dinos from the dollar store. Cheap, easy, and fun! Rawr!

Jan. 21/15: Meet Curtis Joseph at Sarnia’s Canadian Tire!

The Hockey Canada Century Tour is rolling through Sarnia! The 20000+ square ft set up will be in the Canadian Tire parking lot on January 20 and 21st from 1 – 7pm. There will be two “caravan tour” transport trucks on site – one is set up like interactive hockey museum. There will be a few outdoor activities as well, including ball hockey and mini sticks.

The highlight of the event in a meet and greet with former NHL goalie Curtis Joseph (for you fans that missed his appearance at Brownstones last year…. now’s your chance!) from 5 – 7pm on January 21st.

Sounds like a fun way to get the kids out and learn about our national sport and celebrate Hockey Canada’s 100th anniversary!
